The Image Directories are principally intended to provide a quick overview of a series or range of radio equipment. In each directory a thumbnail picture section is linked with a Condensed Data list or additional technical data pages. Pictures of the Image Directories may be enlarged.
Wireless Sets Image Directory
In this page most of the British Army radios used in the period 1932 to the 1950s
-Wireless Set No. 1 to Wireless Set No. 88, also known as the "numerical" period-
(described in Volumes 1 and 2 of "Wireless for the Warrior") are shown.
Larkspur Image Directory
The British Larkspur range of radio equipment was developed and used from the early 1950s well into the 1960s.
This page shows the principal Larkspur sets and related radios used during this period.
USSR Sets Image Directory
Conveniently grouped are some samples of USSR and Warsaw Pact Army radios used before and in the cold war period
(several models shown here might still be in operational use somewhere).
At a later stage many more models may be added to this directory.
Reception Sets Image Directory
Pictures of principal British Army receivers used in the period 1938 to 1960 (described in detail in Volume 3 of "Wireless for the Warrior") are posted.
