Note the ATP4 RF output valve (left) and four ARP12 valves. This particular set is unmodified condition and has even the original decoupling capacitors which are just visible in the right bottom corner. It is a pity that you miss the remarkable strong smell of lacquer and rubber still apparent in this particular set (and actually in most surviving No. 38 Sets....).
Junction Box No. 2 was used for connecting the combined 150/3V battery (four point plug in foreground) and headphones/throat microphone to Wireless Set No. 38 Mk. II. A six point plug and cable connects the No. 38 Set to the junction box. Wireless Set No. 38 Mk.I had its junction box permanently connected to the set.

Microphone Throat Low Level No. 2 was principally used with Wireless Set No. 38 Mk.1 and Mk.II. It found also use with the No. 38 Mk.3 Set, as part of Microphone and Headgear Assembly No. 14.
