USSR/Czech VHF transceiver A7b vs USSR War time A7a

Top chassis layout of Czech A7b. All valves are type 2K2 2V battery types. Due to age and moist some of the valve metallic spray has come off. Its mechanic construction appears not to be very strongly made.

Components layout of Czech A7b. Note liberal use of ceramic components. An interesting detail is that all components have been individually marked for easy recognition at fault finding. Valves and other components are manufactured by 'Tesla'.

War time USSR A7a

Top chassis USSR A7a layout showing valves and main tuning capacitor. The wiring is rubber covered and is surprisingly still in good condition! The 2K2 valves are marked to be manufactured in 1943.

Bottom chassis layout of A7a. Note that components and general construction is not very much different from contemporary production methods in the USA. The large light brown paper covered capacitor is stamped 1-43, revealing slightly the set's manufacturing year.
