USSR type UM-2 is a VHF RF amplifier used to amplify the RF output of the R-105M, R-108M or R-109 family of manpack VHF FM sets. It was issued in the late 1960s and used contemporary developments: valved RF amplifier (type 6P23P) and transistor HT invertor unit. The accumulators are fitted in a separate compartment at the rear of the unit.
